I grew up just outside Edinburgh in Scotland, immersed in a verdant (and frequently grey) landscape. It was here that I first discovered the simple joy of composing a photograph, processing the film by hand and watching the image emerge on a sheet of paper in darkroom.
When I moved to Colorado at the age of twenty I found myself captivated by the vast open spaces, dramatic light and colored land. My landscape work has become less about documenting my surroundings as capturing how I felt the environment at that time.
I work mostly in digital although still find myself shooting large format black and white film from time to time.
